Burberry Prorsum ended London Fashion Week on a high! With numerous celebrities on the front row, including Alexa Chung, Sarah-Jessica Parker and the unlikely Andy Murray, Christopher Bailey was under high pressure to deliver – and he did.
Sticking to the brands staple of outerwear, the Spring/Summer show kicked off with their classic coats. However, as the show continued, it was apparent that this season there was a new focus: biker jackets. From tough to feminine, studded to metallic, black to camel – biker jackets were sent down the runway in all shapes and sizes.
So, who is the Burberry girl this season? She is a biker, who loves bright colours. She loves studs, but also prints. She has grungy make-up and hair, but wears sexy ankle boots. The Spring/Summer 2011 Burberry girl is a girl of contrasts – and that is what I love about her.
